During massage school I was fascinated with anatomy and physiology. Under the tutelage of Dr. Stan Grimmel, DC, I was amazed at what I was learning about the human body and all of its systems, and how everything worked together to produce these amazing vessels. I also learned the importance of including massage in our personal health programs (I get massage every two weeks, religiously!). Even more importantly, I learned the importance of being one integrated part of a client's health TEAM. I believe that when you have a team (Medical Doctor, Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, Personal Trainer, et al,) working together to provide you the best knowledge and current practices in all of our fields, YOU benefit greatly. Through SOAP notes, communication with your other health providers, and regular massage, I can help provide you exactly what your body needs to not only overcome chronic pain, but to help you maintain a healthy homeostasis. After graduating from Loraine's Academy in St. Petersburg, FL, I began immersing myself in continuing education to learn as much as I could to be the best therapist I could be, obtaining certifications in Neuromuscular Therapy , Trigger Point Therapy , Medical Massage Therapy and others. Two modalities resonated with me above all others, Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique (SMRT) and Medical Massage Cupping due to the speed with which these modalities get deep into the tissues to address imbalances while not causing the client pain like more traditional NMT and Trigger Point work. It's not just your back! Some studies suggest that over 60% of adults experience some kind of low back pain. It doesn't need to be that way. I specialize in working with clients who experience pain in their necks or backs. Often the culprit is a muscular imbalance brought on by an injury, poor posture, or too much time sitting. I help relax tired, overstressed muscles that are pulling bones out of alignment and bring them back to a more natural, healthy and flexible state. You'll be surprised how quickly we can work together to make measurable improvements and get you feeling better.
